 Joan Green is the founder of a private speech therapy practice in the Washington, DC area called Innovative Speech Therapy. She provides treatment, consulting, training and coaching to clients, families and professionals in rehabilitation and education. Joan brings her more than 20 years of experience and creativity from entrepreneurial ventures to each individual or organization. She is very realistic in her approach and offers practical support to help both professionals and clients reach their goals as efficiently as possible.
Joan advises and trains professionals who work in hospitals, clinics, graduate programs, schools and training centers on the best strategies for integrating technology into their programs. She then develops a detailed plan and provides guidance to help make it happen. In addition to the professional training and coaching, Joan Green offers a unique rehabilitation service that focuses on integrating technology into therapy to improve overall quality of life for people with cognitive and communication challenges. Joan is the founder and therapist for a short-term intensive rehabilitation program called TWIST (Technology With Innovative Speech Therapy) to help clients and their families maximize overall quality of life.
Joan Green received her Master's in Speech Pathology from Northwestern University in 1986. Prior to starting her own private practice, she worked in a variety of acute care, rehabilitation, and home-care settings. She lives with her husband, Mark, and four wonderful children in Potomac, Maryland. She really enjoys her work and shows true passion in her desire to help people who have a wide range of communication and cognitive challenges.
